We are extremely fortunate to be chosen as one of Vocational Rehabilitation’s vendors to provide Career Camp.
But what exactly is Career Camp?
Career Camp is an opportunity for students ages 14-22 with learning differences, developmental delays, and other challenges to learn the essential skills they will need in the future.
Following guidance from Vocational Rehabilitation, Dr. Lisa has designed both a virtual and face-to-face Career Camp which teaches the essential skills needed for independent living, community interaction, and most importantly, prepares participants for the world of work.
For this Winter Career Camp, we will be focusing on the Retail, Sales, and Service Industry. Participants will learn the various positions in retail, sales, and service; they will also be able to job shadow someone in that actual position through partnerships within our community.
Students participating in Career Camp virtually will have mandatory Zoom meetings at 9:00 and 3:00 each day. We will complete group activities and practice soft skills through our Zoom Sessions.
Students who participate in-person will visit community partners as possible due to pandemic and weather conditions.
Students who participate in Career Camp and complete all activities, Zoom sessions, and Career Project can earn $50/day as participation incentive.
