"...R verbal skills are limited, and she is not able to respond. But I can tell you she enjoys going there; they give her tasks/chores, they keep her busy, and she likes the routine, and she is task-oriented. If she did not enjoy going, she would tell me. No, I have seen it in the past, and with these types of camp, she enjoys."

"...S has taken two workshops, and both have been amazing. The first one had people that actually worked in the medical field and gave him really good advice. And the 2nd was about the workforce and what to expect when working. For example, how to do your taxes, how to resolve conflicts with co-workers, and other great topics. When my son finished the workshop, he was very confident. He said, "Mom, when I get a job, I will know now what to do and how to do my taxes." That was great to hear. Thank you to all that help but the workshop together. "

"...M is a wonderful, handsome and polite young man. The first time he met Dr. Jester was a blessing for his life. He is growing mentally a lot.. they have the compassion, professionalism and have time to work with my lovely son. We are so happy that he is there with Dr. Lisa, Ms. Alice, Ms. Denesha, Mr. Sterling, and Mrs. Abigail."

About The Florida Institute for Community Inclusion

Support. Opportunity. Acceptance. Respect.

A nonprofit organization with a mission to help youth with unique abilities find their purpose and passion as they transition beyond high school. This nonprofit wants to break the stigma around those with disabilities finding competitive employment in the workforce and actively participating in the community. We strongly believe that people are more than just their diagnosis and strive for inclusion.
